Belvoir Castle ' The Chinese Bedroom '

65.00

The castle you see today finally emerged in the early 1800s and was built for the 5th Duke and Duchess of Rutland between 1801 and 1832 by architect James Wyatt.

The castle was given the French name Belvoir – meaning beautiful view – now pronounced ‘beaver’ remains as one of the most magnificent and beautiful Regency houses in England.

The Castle Interiors are exceptional and include many exquisitely beautiful Chinese Wallpapers and painted silks.

We are delighted that Her Grace, The Duchess of Rutland has given us permission to reproduce these wonderful wallpapers. Our first offerings from this collection are the ' Bird and Flower' paper from the Kings Suite and the fantastical 18thc  ' Scenes from Life'  from the Chinese Bedroom.

A contribution from the sale of each panel will contribute to the the urgent and ongoing conservation projects in the Chinese Rooms at the Castle.

Each is unique and is specially designed to suit the dimensions of your room, whether in framed panels , as a feature wall or a continuous panorama taking into account architectural features such as dado rails or fireplaces. These magnificent papers are specially printed in our studios using the highest quality fine art acid free or Kozo papers and water based pigment inks.
